From The Newsletter – Upper Hand: The Future Of Work For The Rest Of Us

Dear Readers—

Monica graciously let me pull myself out of the shadows and take over this week’s briefing. The last few days have been tremendous with a few key announcements I wanted to share with you all:

I published my first book with Wiley, Upper Hand: The Future of Work for the Rest of Us, as a guidepost for communities of color strategically finding their way into the jobs and skills of the future. You can pre-order it on Amazon. I’ll be hosting a few virtual and in-person signings and readings. Head to my website and sign up for my personal newsletter to be notified when I launch my official book tour.

On Friday, a judge handed down life sentences without parole to the three white men who in 2020 gunned down 26-year-old Ahmaud Arbery in New Burn, Georgia as he was jogging. The verdict was one measure of accountability for Arbery’s murder amid the same year that sparked a racial reckoning as the murders of George Floyd and Breonna Taylor reached international recognition.

This month, we’ll welcome our very first Director of Research who will chart our research and intelligence initiatives and products. Keep a lookout for our announcement later this month.
